Born in Houston, Texas in 1976, I was one of two girls with hard working parents. Living all over the Houston area growing up forced me to make friends everywhere we went. From Houston to Sugar Land, Richmond to Katy, I ended up in Clear Lake before Rockport caught my eye. In my early 20’s I got into Hurricane Claims insurance adjusting and traveled all over the Gulf Coast.
In 2000, I was lucky enough to be introduced to this beautiful little fishing town and immediately fell in love with Rockport-Fulton. Spending time at a family home on the weekends here made me never want to leave. After meeting friendly, outdoors loving people, enjoying time on the water, shopping and the small town atmosphere, the decision was made to make Rockport home. In 2007 we moved to Holiday Beach, and started a life on the beautiful middle Texas Coast. As an Oil & Gas Landman, lots of travel was normal during the week. The weekends were spent gardening and fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. The wildlife is abundant on the North side of the bridge. I fell in love with the hummingbird migrations, deer, whooping cranes and our beautiful blue water, which used to be something I would only see on vacation. Every day feels like a vacation living in Rockport.
In 2012 we bought an acre and a half close to the Big Tree (part of Goose Island State Park) and built a home in Lamar. Appreciative of the knowledge I attained from the Landman business, in my heart I had always wanted to pursue Real Estate. In 2017, with the help of a very special person, David Thomasson (Broker), Big Tree Realty was born.
In 2017 my friend Karol Scardino passed the torch to me for the Babes on the Bay All Women’s Fishing tournament. This life changing event has gotten me extremely involved with the Coastal Conservation Association and fueled a passion for our local fishery and habitat. Through this, the lifelong friendships we have made has been one of the most amazing gifts. My other half and I, John, and our Australian Shepherd, Costa currently reside in Lamar. We enjoy traveling to our favorite fishing destinations, being a part of local conservation efforts, entertaining with family & friends, sunset Polaris rides and both love our jobs so much it doesn’t feel like work. Through networking, CCA Texas and the friendships we have made in this town, we are so blessed.
Based in Lamar, we help clients all over the Coastal Bend, from Port O’Connor to Corpus Christi and further. This tiny little fishing town has grown a bit since 2000, but at Big Tree Realty we look forward to meeting new smiling faces and would love to help you find your paradise on the coast.
